We had the blessing of hosting our friends Ben, Noelle and their two boys Everett (2) and Asher (5 months) last night. Chris and Ben have been friends over 10 years and Ben was one of Chris's groomsmen. I hadn't really had a chance to get to know them since the wedding weekend was busy so when they called to say they would be in the area, we were pumped to have them stay with us!
We had an absolute blast with them and totally loved their two little ones (Asher was napping when we took this pic)! I know they'd say we blessed them with a place to stay but really the blessing was all ours as we got to know them better, learned about their upcoming mission journey, connected on deeper levels and got to love on their sweet boys. Our hearts were truly blessed!
I mean, how cute is this guy?!?! Let's just say he loved the ready-made library in our Heritage Room!
Just a few hours...but forever friendships were forged!

Dawn's been our family friend for over 23 years and since we hadn't seen each other since my wedding, I loved being able to catch up!
Greg and his band mates were fabulous! We hope to catch another concert very soon!
Greg and Dawn got married right before us and it's great seeing them so happy and building a wonderful life together!
After the concert, I took Chris over to UNA to see my old stompin' grounds!
So much fun to connect with old friends together!

One of my biggest passions in life is interior design and helping everyday people beautify their lives and homes. I had a few projects while I lived in Jacksonville but now that we're back in Huntsville, I can't wait to build up my client base and spread my wings!
Most of you all know I love everything from picking paint colors to rearranging furniture to decorating for Christmas to organizing your office. If it has to do with your home, I can help! Please keep me in mind as you talk to your friends, family and co-workers and send them to my updated design blog:

Chris and I did trivia night once with friends in Jacksonville and were eager to try with the fam! We headed to Moe's BBQ in Providence last night and our "Fount of Useless Knowledge" team came in 4th but we had SO much fun!
(Btw...Chris had a better time than it looks like in the above pic!)

I've always loved Concerts in the Park in downtown Huntsville and loved being able to share it with my sweetie for the first time!
Not only did we enjoy the live music, but we both enjoy all the people-children-dog watching. We opted for a bag of jelly beans from home, but they had several food trucks and booths, including Piper & Leaf!
I ❤️ Huntsville!

I just finished my first week at my new job- student ministry assistant at Mt. Zion Baptist.
I work with two student ministers and two interns- lots of energy and laughs!
I look forward to the creativity this position will provide!
The hardest part of the week is getting used to full time hours after working part-time in Jax.
But as my 40 hours passed...I just kept thanking the Lord for the provision! Plus I'm loving being back home and having my peeps to do lunch with!

Because the last week or so has been crammed full of all-things moving, we decided to take a break yesterday and have a day exploring Huntsville. The heat dictated that most plans were inside and we had a few non-vaca errands to run but other than that, we had a nice little stay-cation day.
We started with breakfast at Cyn Shea's...a favorite spot of mine that Chris hadn't tried yet. We enjoyed their Orange Cranberry French Toast.
After some errands, we headed to Lowe Mill...
We finally got to try Piper & Leif Tea thanks to Abby & Nick's housewarming gift- refillable Mason jars!
We split my fav sandwich at the Happy Tummy...another spot Chris hadn't tried yet.
We ran some more errands (this isn't really sounding like a vaca anymore is it?!) then got Steak Out, courtesy of Moma and Daddy- that place is delish!!!
Once the sun set, we drove to Bridgestreet and got our first Steel City Pops!
Yesterday was just the first of many dates in the Rocket City! Here are some of the suggestions (along with some of my own favs) I received when I asked for

Moma and Daddy got to Jax mid-afternoon on Tuesday- I think they were running on about 4 hours of sleep! Their excitement fueled their road trip! We spent Tuesday afternoon loading all the cars and the U-Haul and at one point considered getting a second truck.
We ended up barely stuffing everything in- oh, the joys of moving! Two things made this interesting- as a single man, Chris bought the worlds most gigantic sectional...and it was 250 degrees outside!
With sheer determination and lots of muscle, we somehow managed to get the house looking like this by about 8 am Wednesday.
Mom, Dad and Andrew came to say goodbye and grab last minute pics...
Goodbye 3577...we've made lots of memories in our first home!
After goodbyes, we pulled out...
Finally headed north! We broke our trip into two days, spending Wednesday night in Dothan. We had a relaxing evening swimming and having a delish supper. I think we were all asleep by 7:30!
After hitting the road again Thursday, we were greeted by our favorite welcoming crew!
We are so excited about being just minutes from each other now!
As we waited for the rest of the convoy to get here, Abby had to show how Honey Bunch had helped with the banner.
She loves crafts!
No way we could've done all this without these two!
After catching our breath, we attacked the truck and cars and got everything unloaded.
That couch almost did the guys in!
About 6:30, we called it quits for the night and collapsed back at Moma's! The next few days will be all the unpacking and decorating, but we have a good crew to help us!
The Lord has shown Himself so faithful...in bringing us together in marriage, in deepening our relationship through difficult circumstances and now, in moving us to Huntsville.
Eighteen months ago, Chris came home after work to tell me his job would be coming to a close eventually. My very first thought was, "Lord, is this You?" Time and time again, He's proven that yes...it was His hand on our lives. We give Him thanks!

Sunday morning was our last service at FBC and it was bittersweet...I'm beyond grateful for the year and a half we've sat under the preaching of Mac Brunson...
...and worshiped with the fantastic choir and orchestra! Mac will certainly go down as one of the most influential pastors I've known.
The last few weeks, my in laws have joined us at church and we all enjoyed the patriotic service Sunday.
After church, we headed to cousin Sharon's house for a farewell lunch with the family. Memom brought a cute cake!
Sharon gave us such a sweet gift, a dessert set to reminder us of the Sunshine State!
