Meow

How's about some pics of the sweetest little girl in our family?

This one is titled "tuna juice in the sink"

Such a brave girl at the vet!

Nick snapped this one while he was on the floor trying to clean up the rug...he looked up and saw his supervisor checking in on him!

In case you can't tell, I really miss Honey Bunch!

Blue Ridge, GA

We celebrated Moma and Daddy's 40th wedding anniversary (July 20th) with a family vacation in Blue Ridge, GA. How blessed we are to have such loving, Godly, dedicated, generous parents who have been married four decades.  And how great that they opted to spend their special weekend with all their kiddos!

What better way to celebrate than with 1974 in a box?  I collected a few items from their first date, like the movie they saw and a copy of "their" song.  We had a great time listening to all their stories of their courtship, wedding and marriage.

We stayed at the incredible Bella Vista Lodge in Blue Ridge.  It was three stories, with a game room (where we discovered we have some serious pool masters in the family), three master bedrooms, screen porch, hot tub, great kitchen and beautiful furnishings.  It's now our new favorite place!

Plus, check out this view from our front porch!!!

 Here's a quick tour...

Our beautiful Moma getting us settled in...this woman thinks of everything!

 We spent our weekend exploring...

...spending quality time together...

...enjoying the scenery...

...being silly...

...stealing a few moments alone...

...grilling up burgers...

...discovering new board games...

...laughing almost constantly...

...rackin' them up...

...brushing-up on our arcade games that were in the basement...

...making homemade ice cream...

...relishing every moment together...

...wondering if we should invest make our own game room back home...

...being grateful for these two being in the family now...

...popping corn over the fire on the screen porch...

...reminiscing over all the wonderful events of the last 40 years...

...watching the sun rise...

...then watching the moon rise...

We did venture from the cabin on Monday and drove out to Lake Blue Ridge.  One of the things we loved the most about our vacation was the mild weather- it felt like fall!

We discovered Mercier Orchards that had delicious fruit breads and all sorts of goodies!

Farmer Nick had a blast!

We really enjoyed walking through downtown Blue Ridge, with cute little shops and restaurants.

We didn't ride the Blue Ridge Railroad, but loved seeing the train!

And who can resist a giant moose!?!?

We can't!

No family vacation is complete without a photo shoot...

I snapped this as Abby and Nick were getting set-up and it cracks us up!  It's so THEM!

The guys...

The girls...

On a side note...Chris and I try to discover new spots any where we go and we found The French Market, just south of Atlanta.  It has amazing shopping and great food!

These grits were the best ever!

Chris tried a Monte Cristo for the first time...but I liked his sandwich and he liked mine!

We had planned for this vacation since January and our days away seemed to fly by but we are already dreaming and ready for the next Forester-Hayes-Brooks vaca!
