My BSF Bridal Shower

I lovingly refer to yesterday's bridal shower as my "BSF Shower" since all the hostesses and guests are my dear BSF friends.  These precious ladies have been my faithful source of prayer support, encouragement and laughter in the 8 years I've been involved in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship).  Several of the ladies have been my mom's dear friends even longer, meaning they prayed me through high school and college, even before I knew them!
These ladies have heard my prayers, seen my tears, and walked with me on my often painful journey of prolonged singleness.  They've also seen the Lord teach and sustain me over the years.  And now...they join me whole-heartedly in praising the Lord for bringing Chris into my life and for the love He's growing in us each day.
The lovely hostesses- love these girls!

The invite!

Cute, bridal cake pops!

The table was just beautiful and the food delicious!  The hostesses outdid themselves!

With Melanie and Dicie (the official door-opener!)

Greeting Pat, who I've known and loved since 7th grade.  She actually gave me my first scrapbook!  She's a former BSF Teaching Leader and is now the Area Advisor for several states.  A dear family friend...

With my mom and Laura, my first BSF Discussion Leader...she spoiled me for anyone else!

Debbie, Meg and Susan chatting it up...

Grace and Jeanine...they started out as group members when I was a Discussion Leader but ended as friends!

With my all-time favorite BSF-er!

Former all-star Substitute Teaching Leader, Debbie

Former Teaching Leader, Michelle, who was my first Teaching Leader and encouraged me when being a Discussion Leader grew challenging at times!

Moma had a blast bragging on Chris and sharing all the Lord's done over the last few months.
Here Melanie, Suzanne (a sweet friend and Moma's Teaching Leader for many years), Michelle and Pat are her captive audience.

Rhega created a fabulous matching game where the clues were based on my blog posts about Chris and all the answers were names of candy!  So creative and fun!

Everyone was so generous...Chris and I are humbled (and excited!) by all the wedding goodies.

I can't begin to express my love and gratitude to all these precious ladies!  It was beautifully surreal to be the bride!

Engagement Update- Week 12

I am living my dream come true- planning our wedding! Things are coming together beautifully and I love spending my time prepping all the small details that can be done ahead of time.

Today, Moma and I met with Meg to talk about some wedding details she's helping with. We ate at the Sandwich Farm- so very good!!! Moma and I split the chicken salad on a pretzel roll and BLT with fried mozzarella.

After lunch, we headed to Lawren's, one of the places Chris and I are registered, to check out the display with our everyday dishes and fine china. They lay out each couples choices and I felt super bridal to be a Lawren's bride!

In non-wedding news, Honey Bunch is growing up so fast! She's outgrown many of her kitten habits, but still loves digging in the trash...

...and sending not-so-subtle hints about when she's hungry!

And finally...did you all know I'm madly in love with this man?!?!

Engagement Update- Week 11

Chris and I loved showing Moma some of our favorite spots in Jacksonville this weekend!

This was her first visit so we spent Friday night showing her Maple Street Biscuit Company and Friendship Fountain.

Our weekend was pretty laid back playing Gatoropoly, talking a ton, going to church and having our Brooks family over for Sunday lunch.

I also got to start decorating our home...but more on that later!

The weekend is over and goodbyes get harder and harder as we fall deeper and deeper in love...the next 95 days can't go by fast enough!

The Future Mrs. Hayes

Last night was all about pink as we celebrated Abby's lingerie shower!  I used pink gumballs and daisies as the centerpiece, flanked by pink rock fun is that?!?!

I borrowed my friend's (thanks Dawn!) cotton candy machine and had a blast spinnin' some sugar!  Also made Sno Cones with cotton candy syrup- yummy!

Cheesecake bar...

Pink poofs for everyone...

Happy days!
