True Love

I want a dog.

But I don't want just any dog.

I want this dog:

I've named him Max, since that's been my ideal dog name ever since I can remember.

I've seen him in my dreams for years, but found this picture last week on Pinterest.

He's an Australian Labradoodle and I love him.

And just as soon as I save about $2,500 he's all mine!

A Good Name

Proverbs 22:1
“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.”

Today is my parent’s 37th wedding anniversary! I’m beyond grateful for their example of a Godly marriage. As a kid, I appreciated having an intact family with parents who provided for me, but as an adult, I have a greater appreciation for their relationship, knowing that marriages are attacked daily by Satan who doesn’t want God’s ordained union to succeed.

I’ve also gained a new perspective on their marriage as I’ve sailed the turbulent (and often stagnant!) waters of dating. I often joke with my dad that he’s spoiled me for any other man, since he is the epitome of a TALL, godly, gentleman! After seeing firsthand what their marriage is like, I’m not willing to settle for anything less.

When life gets hard, my parents’ unwavering faith has been the bedrock of our family. Knowing they pray together for me and our family every day is the greatest gift they’ve ever given me.

It’s with much love that I celebrate the anniversary of two of my best friends and pray they have many more years together.

I've been having blog-guilt! I feel bad about not blogging, but things have been either too crazy or too boring and both drive me to silence.

I've been all settled in my new home for several weeks and have really enjoyed all the decorating and organization that comes with moving. I hope to post pictures soon!

So far my summer highlights are pretty low-key:

-catching up on scrapbooking (I'm finishing 2009 tonight)

-discovering "How States Got Their Shapes" on the History Channel

-eating Monster Mix in my pjs

-becoming addicted to Pinterest

Though my summer and skin might pale in comparison to other people's, I'm actually very content with my low-key, at-home summer.

If you drop in, I'll share my Monster Mix!
